DTT transmissions
Just getting ready to pull the pin on a DTT trans, triple disk billet converter, billet input, output, bunch of other billet stuff, billet flexplate, just curious if anyone has any opinions on these units? I've generally heard good things, they are in canada, plus they carry lots of other hop up parts, and so far seem very fair to deal with, giving me a good deal on other parts with the trans order.
I have a DTT transmission in my '99 and love it. I would however try to find an installer close to you because customer support is key. I would go with any of the big guys (DTT,Goerend,Suncoast,etc..) whoever I felt the most comfortable with and I could deal with in a few hours drive. Just my .02 worth.
i had the full transmission in my truck for a little over a year now. it makes the truck come alive. the only thing i would do over is get a single disc instead of triple disc converter. the lockup is a little to hard for my taste.
as far as service, the whole bunch at dtt corporate and my builder in dallas were all just awesome.

try excell transmission in red deer.
extremely good customer service and they sure know what the heck they are doing. when it comes time to build mine that is where it will be done.
i believe others on here from AB have used them with great success.
if you go to the dyno day - ask around about them . . .
just another option, not saying it's a better one, but just another one . . .

When it is time to redo my tranny I am going with Bill at DTT. Still love my DTT transmission in the 98, but in recent months I have given my motor a weee but more power I think and might need a little freshening with some billet parts.
Ditto on the close proximity of the installer. I had a couple of issues on my DTT that were taken care of but required a five hr drive. Not fun! The built autos are amazing compared to stock. I had the single 89% tc

defleshed, I recommend DTT. You could put it in your garage, top notch guys to work with. They even give you a cell # to contact for those just in-case moments. They have a new shop in Surrey/Absorford area, its well worth the drive out there. Bill and Steph are hard core HP diesel heads. I have a triple with a 1800 rpm stall. Its sweet deal. I just go back every 100k, and get my tranny rebuilt and with fresh stuff inside. I put mine in my garage and its wasn't that hard to do. My last built tranny I broke a billet intermediate shaft and one before that was a OD clutch unit. I'm on my third built transmission and one stock dodge tranny. Each one was like give away a kidney.
and nothing is bullet proof.

There is probably the best trans. guy in the calgary area. He did my DTT several years ago.His name is Martin Proude. Is a partner in the best trans shop in calgary. He also has a shop at home, SW of Strathmore.
His Cell # is 403-999-4630, home is 403-934-3425. Tell him Jim Creasser gave you his name.
