Coolant in exhaust??
Ok, fellas Its fairly cool out (as you probably know) I started the 12V to warm it up (it was not plugged in), high idleing it at ~1100, then ~1300 rpm. After it was running for 10 minutes I noticed a small coolant leak under the engine and what looks like coolant in the exhaust out the tail pipe. So is this a blown head gasket? Say its not so.
Sure would be nice if I could open the stupid hood open to take a look but its froze shut.
What do you figure?

what you need a 12V or 24V? This just happen? How much coolant you low in the rad? Could/might be a head gasket. I would do lots of checks prior to ripping and tearing. Keep us posted, see what we can do to get you up and running. I was thinking about trying sme chinese special heads. Nobody I've know has run them. Suppose to have more material in the cracking areas than cummins.
Can get a new loaded 12v head pretty reasonable, why mess with a used head. 24VP stuff it gets pricey and less options, CR stuff is cheaper and has china options. Must go thru two to three heads to get a good decent head that will work.

oh its the 12V Mike. And I still cant get the hood open. I would like to take the truck to my parents place and let it sit until it gets warm but Im not sure I should take it that far. If it hydro-locked, might not be too good.

You in a hurry? Could call Harry (Peak), he seems to have a good 12v connections. Like I said, I'm going the china route, I just have VE, VP, CR and 6.7L heads, no 12v stuff.
Could try Rob? I'm looking myself for 12v stuff, but I just want new stuff. I done with the used stuff.

My brother's '98 has a Chinese head from RJ Performance of all places on it. Been on there now for a few years-seems to be OK but it doesn't get beat. Seems to me at the time it was $600 for an assembled head plus the taxes-comes in a wood crate with a bunch of funny writing on it.
Shane, I have a coolant system pressure tester to charge up the system and look for leaks. Also have a UV kit that you can dye the coolant with to see easier what/where it's leaking. That should pinpoint whether it's truly antifreeze in the exhaust. Lemme know when you want to do it-I still owe you a favor or 3 for pulling me off the side of the road that day.
