They are trying to get me to go to Cuba for Christmas. Not sure if its a trap where they take my passport and leave me there. They are into making wine, and were wanting a corner of my garage to do it in. I kept telling them they could use my shed (when I build one), I think I'll have to let them use the garage now. They can use the back of my dually, I suppose.

Well, rather than start a new thread, I'd rather just update this one, since it seems the most relevant. Just about a year later, I'm almost complete with the garage. Couple odds and ends to finish, but its pretty much ready to be signed off by the city. Hurrah! After this week of painting, I was finally able to install my lights. 88 4' fluorescent bulbs, just under 250000 lumen. Suffice to say, its nice and bright in there.

Anyhow, here's a night picture. This is only half the lights on currently.

The new garage looks awesome!

I think you should pick a date for a garage GTG.

Perhaps an evening would be best since everyone is out camping on the w/ends...

If we're gonna do a GTG, its gonna have to be this week, as I bugger off to work on Sunday for 6 weeks or so.

Mike, I'll be doing a clutch job here Tuesday on Bob's truck. Kind of sad the first vehicle I work on in my garage isn't even my own.

Nice shop! I just started the groundworks on my 30x36 shop, seeing yours gives me incentive to get home and get at it.
Cheers!

Its been a long road, but its almost done. Looking forward to working on my junk in it finally. Still need to get some yard work done. Hopefully get all my overburden piles removed tomorrow, and get started on the fence in the back before more concrete. And a deck. I need more money. Any donations?

Same here, big leisure project this year as no major money for the first time in 6 years will be spent on our lake property this year(40K so far---garage is next in a year or two---then it is done). We decided to treat our selves to a hottub/gazebo combo(arrives mid August)new/complete 18x13 composite deck that will surround a partial sunken hottub on a cement pad---(8x9 pad is 6-1/2 inched thick with 220 feet of rebar,1 foot on center/35 MPa(4350PSI) rating, pad is sitting on 5 three foot deep pilings rebarred as well---total pour was just 2 meters done myself with U-Cart cement services).Pitty the poor buggar that has to dig that out in 50 years.Almost done, hopefully by the end of August, then i"m gonna need the tub to soak the old tired/bones.

There's a dually bed blocking access to the Bronco's engine bay right now, but it is in the garage. You should know better than suggesting putting a CR in one of my toys. Just ignore all that 2012 talk a couple weeks ago, that was just a moment of weakness.

As for the GTG, come on by anytime. I've got a storage unit to empty. If we have 8 trucks, should go pretty fast.

I've got a storage unit to unload. Luckily its not full to the brim, but it does cover a good amount of floor space. I have the Snap-On shelves that can be seen in the picture. Still not enough, but it should help.
