Darndest thing....backing up in the Banff Safeway parking lot, nudge a curb with the new 35's and boing! cracked the tie rod in the middle. Turns out it was welded before.... I am hoping to get it welded and sleeved good enough here to get to Calgary and find another at pick-your-part in Calgary. If they have one...suggestions? Lots of looks wacking on the pickle fork in the parking lot!! Still on blocks there now....

That sucks, I wouldn't risk trying to fix one up. Why don't you just phone a dealer or whatever parts place and get one overnighted to there or whatever? They aren't that much money, not worth trying to buy used or fix up IMO. Heck, complete steering from the dealer is only $450, one tie rod can't be worth much.

Ditto. Tie rods are a wear item, it doesn't make safety nor dollar sense to buy a used one..

In fact, changing both tie rods would be a good idea. You will need a wheel alignment anyway, might as well do it right.

Welding a tie rod? You must be kidding, I sure hope so. I have see & heard of alot things in 17yrs working on things that see the hiway, but that is likely a winner there. Don't screw around, put a new tie rod on!

Got the part from napa canmore, who got if from calgary then drove it to banff, no charge.
250.00.
Dealer wanted about 450.00 for just the tie rod, 3 piece. they wouldn't sell just the outer.
