Biodiesel

Anyone know of a place to buy biodiesel in or around the Edmonton area? I would be really pleased if I could find a place that sold it for less than the price of gas, because im getting sick of paying more for diesel than I am for gas

I burned a few hundred litres of Daves magic fuel.. Good stuff.

There is a guy at the local farmers markets (now closed) that sold it out of his trailer. I sorta trusted Daves mix better, mainly cuz I know him..

Now that the weather is getting colder,I'm not looking forward to spending $1.09 a litre. At least I will save a bit in blending.B100 is what I ran on the dyno in Edmonton.

How well does bio run in the engine, ive heard some good and bad about it. Im a bit worried that it would cause some clogging issues.

And for the record, how hard is it to make, I have a lot of time on my hands while im at school here and I wouldn't mind trying to make it.

Runs good in my truck.Clogging of injectors is more of a result of poor process. Not doing a tritration or not washing the bio good enough.I wash my bio 4 to 5 times. You would be surprised how milky the first washs are.

I am curious, have you ever run into any Gov't issues because your making your own fuel? I have heard some horror stories out of the states where guys are getting screwed over for making their own fuel.

Keep your fuel to yourself and it shouldn't be a problem. Supporting the farmers seems good to me.. There is a plant going in around Innisfail.. However the EUB (wonder who pays their salary) pulled a fast one on them with permits etc. just to hold them up...

Yes it does. You have to blend with Dino fuel or lots of additive to keep the cloud point lower.

I filled up at 111.9 the other day. Been a long time since I put more than $100 in the truck. I should look at the bio I have in the back of the truck. Probably jelly now, its been around -15 to -20 past couple days and nights.
