ARMOR INC GTG OCT 17th
Well, what do I got to lose, I'll give this a try
: in exchange for me paying your $50 dyno fee, I was wondering if someone could help me install a voltage regulator for the DTT valve body at the GTG on the 17th...I think my tranny installer used a resistor, which is working fine for now (no 2nd or 3d gear starts), but I'd like to use the regulator, and DTT recommends it. It's pretty straightforward - 3 wires to connect and then adjusting the voltage - except that I've never soldered anything and I don't have a voltage meter. Of course I could take this back to the installer but I'd prefer to actually learn how to do it. I know you probably don't want to go to GTGs to work, but if anyone would be kind enough to give me a hand that day, or before if your in Edmonton, lemme know and I'll PDF the instructions...thanks, Daniela.

We ran in Boise on the weekend and with the new torque convertor first run pulled the front wheels of the ground 6" with a 45lb launch....but the stall in the convertor is not where we want it so the mph at the end of the track is low but still managed to run 11.5 with a small tune....so lots of room to grow looking forward to next summer...
, OK then! No, I'm getting 1st gear starts. After speaking with DTT they gave me the impression that this was a kinda DIRE error to not have in on there
- I called because I am getting some 1-2 hunting under light throttle. I asked for some recommendation, but didn't really get an answer for my particular situation. I know they have a shift enhancer, but maybe the pressures still needs a bit of adjusting or something. Or just not use light throttle, LOL, that's the other solution. I may still try to install the voltage regulator anyways, one problem I had was finding a 12V ignition wire but I think I found one now. And as for learning soldering, well theres always google

. Whatever happened to "if it aint broke don't fix it".
pistazie, have you adjusted the kick down feedback cable? I don't know if the new stuff has that, I had to adjust mine quite abit, as I like hard shifts and early down shifts. Are you getting a code in the PCM? Usually its an line overpressure code as now you have a built tranny that has higher than stock line pressure (the force that applies force to the clutchs). The resistor, just drops that reading so that its within the standard line pressure that dodge expects to see.
The wiring is abit intimating. Have you located the wires on the PCM? Also have you put in the TPS noise filter gismo? Fun stuff eh?

Not to be negative, but I don't recommend doing anything like this at at GTG in a parking lot. Especially wiring, especially in Red Deer in mid-October..
It's tough to do a good job with the craziness of so many folks around & a group setting.
I always use heatshrink tubing to encapsulate automotive wiring connections, which requires a heat gun to do a nice job, which requires 120VAC.
I do have a butane soldering iron, solder, voltmeter, heat shrink tubing, etc, & would be happy to help, but I'm not sure this is the right place.
You will likely still have to do some playing with the settings to get it right before you cruise back home to Edmonton..
Can you post the .pdf on here or photobucket for us to have a look?

Mike: Hmmm, no engine light or anything, truck runs fine, just that DTT warned me that a resistor was just a temporary solution for some reason, and they also warned me about the PCM seeing overpressures, but I think that would put it in limp mode. I don't think my year has a TV/kickdown cable?
I'm sure the transmission will need some adjustments, I have barely had time to drive it since it was rebuilt or even figure out where the shift points are happening etc.
Joe: I think you are right about the setting, I will tackle the job here at home without being rushed or distracted, it seems like it is not a pressing issue. As Mike says, the electronics stuff is a little intimidating, but no biggie! I just have a hard copy of the install right now, so can't post it - it involves one T-tap, one splice, and connecting a ground.
Thanks for your offers of help, guys! Always nice to learn from the pros.

You guys got robbed. That has to be the easiest mod going, just pop off the TPS cover, pull a white clip. Pull the kickdown cable some, put the clip back in. Its almost as good as a valve body upgrade. Is that a programmer thingy, I have something like that for my 300 srt, my diablo tuner, you just put in a rpm increase/decrease on shifting. Way to complex for my brain.
So do you think that a common rail would have the highest power numbers on the dyno?
Maybe its time for a 6.7L to win the event

Wouldn't be funny that a duramax won the event?
My neighbor up the street showed me his new methanol/H2O kit. Three nozzles, all that was triggered off a injector wire. I go thru 1/2gallon on a 10 minutes ride, so I can;t figure that its any better than mine. His kit had a tank in the bed of the truck. He runs two solenoids and three nozzles. One soleniod was for fuel mileage (small nozzle) and two big nozzles for that wot power. I asked him how many ponies. He told me 500-550rwhp. I want to see a bone stock duramax put down a 550rwhp. Down to the stock tranny.
I have to get him to come out to the dyno event and see
