Im toying with the thought of doing a sheet metal box. How much work would this be? How expensive?

 

I don't know anyhting about tin bashing. but if you're debating that route. Why not source out fiberglass boxsides and just a mesh tailgate.

 

Well I dont bother with a tailgate when Im racing, it is just there for looks while parked,, LOL... do you know of any companies that do fiberglass panels? The only ones that I have seen are the pre runner ones, with the big bumps on them

You could cut out the inner fenders and box floor, and just make a tube frame to support it. Get a soft tonneau cover to hide it all.

Mike Spady's silver dodge dually with the procharger that was pulling at black out has a box like what tate mentioned, albeit no cover.

wild... I found out the rules does not have anything saying you cant do it,, and it dosent even matter if they are covered or not..
