Winter front???

I opened the winter front package to install and the velcro to hold open the flaps is on the wrong side of the cover. The dealership tells me that the flaps have to fold inside??? Never seen one like this and to be honest I felt they were giving me a line. I am contacting Chrysler and see what they say. Are they all like this?

Thats what mine is like as well. In my mind it makes sure that the vents stay open, no way for the wind to blow them closed when they are on the inside. It also help against any wear damage to the flaps if they are on the inside.

I got one with my 2011, 4500. Was wondering in what type of winter weather conditions would this be used in. We get very cold, ice and snow where I'm located in Texas, but not for long. Guessing I'll probably never use it lol.

That seems strange. Mine is a genuine mopar (2 years old) and the velcro is on the proper side. Actually the velcro is on both sides of the flap.

Well Chrysler was of no help and passed the buck back to the dealer saying to take it back and them show me how it works. It appears that all the fronts were made this way, judging by the ones I've seen today and the replies but that alone does not make them made correctly. I can't honestly see how the flaps could be folded inside with the front installed and frozen hard as the ones that open outward are difficult to open when frozen.

Sheepboy.. do you open and close yours often and if so how difficult is it when frozen?

klx650a2, The winter front changed after the 2009 trucks and are totally different, so I'm told by the dealer.

Meanwhile sharpening up my "needle point" skills.

I don't open/close them often. Usually leave them open till it gets real cold.

Only had the truck 1 winter now and it was not a bad one. From what I remember it was not to bad and if you ran the truck for a bit to warm it up the front was warm enough to move the cover with out too much trouble.
That and the flaps on the inside kept them "clean" for moving to the outside.
