I've had a lot of folks ask me how the wheelchair lift opens and works. Today I shot a very shaky video of the process and have posted it on You-tube. The weather was not very cooperative. Hey, its winter - somewhere.

The truck has a 4"body lift to allow a 5" floor drop where the back seat was. And a 4" suspension lift to help with a little ground clearance.
I'm working on the deletes right now and I have shot a few pics that you might find of interest. With the lift running under the truck like it does, the exhaust system is just about one inch above the box the lift is in. Mostly I had very little problems with the tailpipe and the muffler but the DPF/NOX were a pain because the floor was dropped to within a 1/4" inch of the frame. The wires going to the sensors were pinched in between the floor and frame. So I had to remove the sensors from the filter, then pry the floor up a little with a pry bar, in order to slip the wires out clear of the floor. This was the first thing I've found about the conversion that was a little less than good workmanship. The wires held together over 18k miles, but in time I'm sure there would have been a problem.

Despite this very small issue, I love my truck and have been thrilled with it. I’ll post all the delete pics in a thread in the Performance section tonight.

When you do the deletes, will you be able to raise the lift a little closer to the frame rails to help more with ground clearance? Or would that not allow the lift to go down all the way to the ground?
Also, is there a fast way of getting in and out? In the event of a downpour, it seems as if you would get soaked..

In 27 years of riding filts of one kind or another I have been wet a lot. 
I always hope to be able to park within range of the remote control. Sometimes you can and sometimes you can't. If we are going into a store or something, I try to wait it out. Yes, at 56 I'm still wet behind the ears.

The one, and I mean only one advantage to the minivans is that they open fast and close fast. We are seriously are considering a van as a daily driver to help keep some miles off the truck. But I just don't know if I'd be able to leave the truck in the drive.

First are the hand controls that operate the brake and accelerator. You pull the handle down to accelerate and push it forward to brake.
Next is a closer view of the powered drivers seat base. Its called a transfer seat base because it is able to rotate about 120 degrees to line up with my wheelchair for the transfer in or out.

This shows the drivers seat in the transfer position. Duhh.

Next is a rear jump seat that folds down. Its not as comfortable as the front seats, but I can have tow kids or one average sized adult ride on it. The one drawback is that it must be folded up in order for me to get in. Then it can be dropped into position for a passenger. It's very rare for me to any passengers except my wife, so it works when needed.
