My 2014 3500 has a camera in the tailgate. I took the tailgate off for the 1st time today. The camera wiring enters the bottom of the tailgate through a large oblong hole where there is a plastic lever of some sort.. Just don't look right. I wonder if the dealer properly reassembled thing when the did a recall some time back. Does it look like tis on your truck? Wow why is the picture so big??

First look, it appears they missed the plastic cover so I went out to my 3500 (with tailgate camera) and took a look. There was no cover on the tailgate end, but that "plastic lever" is taped to the harness. I'm guessing this is their way of protecting the harness. There is a plastic cover on the truck end of the harness.

If I were you, I'd tape it up like the photo below.
