Thinking of going back to a Ram 3500...

I had a 2007 Ram 3500 which I did a bit of customizing to, ( rims, tires, fender flares, grill, window tint, Linex bed liner and debadged.) I only had it for 3 years, and loved it, it looked awesome, however, I got rid of my travel trailer, so I didn't feel I needed a big diesel. I also bought a 2008 Hummer H2, and the ride and interior was soo much better, I sold the Dodge.
Now I'm thinking of getting rid of the H2 and looking at the 2011 ram 2500 or 3500, they have updated the interior now, and with 35" tires, I think they look even better than my '07.
What are your thoughts? ( I know I'm on a DODGE site! )

Like we've all seen that.......................

If you think you need the 3500, get one. They are very nice.

Personally I'd be embarrassed to own and be seen driving an H2.

Dang it, boy... that ain't right!

Me neither....

They're nice, man. I've rode in a few, they get it. Price tag is a little hefty, but you'll do good on a left over '10 right now.

It'll be even better when more programming comes out for the '10's. I've rode in a few 08's that had deletes and a smarty... watch out!

Unless you are towing extremely heavy loads just stay with the 2500. I also wanted a 3500 but tow pretty much nothing. Therefore, I bought the 2011 2500. You can probably find a 2010 leftover but you will definately be stuck with some pretty crappy options on the truck. Also, if you get a 2011, be sure to check the steering bow noise coming from the front. If you take some slow turns with the truck you will notice a very loud noise coming from the steering wheel. If that happens, they need to replace the steering box before you buy it. If they do not agree, go somewhere else. There is a forum on here describing this and my truck had this problem. When I took it in, with a printout of the forum, they replaced without question. Since I have had it replaced, NO PROBLEMS.

I totally agree ...... Can't stand the H2, and the H3 is even worse.

I heard the H2 needs a lot of repairs over the course of the life of the truck. True in our experience?

I've had the H2 for almost 2 years now, and just had a temp sensor replaced, it has been good so far. I've only got 17 000 km on it right now. The ride is very good , interior on the new 08 is very nice and it is much better than my ram was in the snow and ice, gas mileage isn't bad. I'm currently getting about 16 mpg in the city (600-700km per 121 L tank) and 18 on the highway (700-750 per 121 L tank). Not quite what my 5.9L was getting, but from what I hear, the same as a 6.7L will get?
I don't have a trailer, and I won't be pulling anything, so maybe I will look at the 2500.

Well I was in pretty much the exact same predicament as you except I had an H3. Wife and I decided we want a travel trailer again so I bought a 2500 and love it but the mileage (i'm stock) is just OK...averaging about 16. FYI my H3 (after I leveled it) was probably the best all around vehicle I've ever owned...pretty much unstoppable unless it was deep mud then it just didn't have the power but other than that I loved it

I just don't get the high beltline, small window deal on the H3's and amazingly copied by Toyo in the FJ Cruiser. My buddy rode in an H3 in Death Valley and was duly impressed with the offroad ability, but what's with the tiny windows?

I guess it was supposed to look like an armored car..but I loved it (actually been thinking about trying to pick one up again because since they quit making them they are dirt freakin' cheap).
