Split the 4th Gen forums?

I've had a couple of pm's sent to me asking to split the 4th gen forums. I personally don't think there are enough posts here yet to do it, but I'd like to publicly hear what you guys have to say about it. Are we ready to split them up yet? I'm only seeing a few threads a day, and I really don't like empty forum sections...

Maybe once we get more of the 2010/11 truck questions, but not right now.

currently a waste of time and resources.
I wish there was enough posts to do so but a search doesn't result in much right now.

I think the posts should be split once I take delivery of my new truck. They tell me it'll be a Sep build, so whenever that will be should be the magic date! Personally, I'm checking it every day and just posted on it. Here, heh, heh....

I've been wondering when the 4th Gen forum would be split up, and hope it will be soon, but for some reason it's not very active right now.

I've been a member here for a few years and always enjoyed the 3rd Gen section while I had my '05. But since I've had my 2010, I've discovered that there's considerably more activity on the Cummins Forum, so I recently signed up over there, all the while hoping that things pick up here at DTR in the 4th Gen Forum. I prefer DTR, but 4th Gen is kind of slow right now.

It doesn't look like there's enough posting to justify breaking it up yet - with things the way they are, I don't think there's as many fourth gen's being bought (then generating posts) as there had been with other gen's. But maybe as folks start buying '011's we see more posts - enuf to justify breaking/splitting it up. JMHO

Why? Under the sheet metal they're virtually the same as the 3rd gens. Until the drivetrain changes significantly, I don't see a need.

There's numerous differences between the '09s and the '10+

They may be little, but it's annoying cause there's very little aftermarket stuff out there for us.

I think when more people move into the 10+'s I think there should be a dedicated section to them.

I recently sold a '98 and take delivery of a 2010 tomorrow. I have plenty of questions, I have not identified them just yet, as I don't know how much I don't know. I'll be posting the questions just as soon as I can identify what I don't know.

Thank you all for your indulgence

I think we should split the forums for 4th gens. Some of us have used our trucks for several months now. I find it easier finding the required information with the forums split. Could at least have a seperate split for the guys doing the mods and/or fixes?

I agree with DirtEater above in regards to the CumminsForum. They have embraced this current generation Dodge & there is a ton of good info there. If this site isn't generating interest or page hits why burden the staff with extra proofreading, censoring and work at this time?
