Specing A New Ride

So here I sit having some fun on the Dodge site specing out a new truck because family wants to get a bigger trailer (32' 5th wheel from my 25' bumper pull) to which I told them for that, I want a new truck my way to which they agreed. Anyways, I spec'd out 2 trucks with identical trims and options except for 1. 1 was a 2500 and the other was a 3500. Both Longhorns, Crew Cab, short bed, 2wd. The 3500 was actually $40 LESS than the 2500. Go figure!!

some of the stuff that you have to pay extra for is standard on a 3500...towing mirrors...anti-spin..those come to mind....

Make sure you look into other factors like insurance and vehicle registrations. At the end of the day, depending on your state, etc., the 2500 may be cheaper, all things considered.

Ask around on the various forums. I have read both accounts where there was no difference, AND others who got burned by the extra cost of 3500 ownership.
