'rambox'

I am about ready to order a new truck. I want a Laramie 2500 but would love to have the 'rambox' storage in the rear fenders. Does anyone know if it is possible to get this option on the Laramie 2500 diesel? I know it is on the outdoorsman but I really dont like the restrictions on color and upholstery on those trucks. I have searched and cant find any info. Thanks for any input you may have.

The Rambox is not available on the 2500/3500 Heavy Duty's...only the 1500's.

I seem to recall hearing somewhere that Dodge was considering adding the option to the Heavy Duty lineup, but who knows if/when that will happen. Maybe 2012...

i know the longhorn edition has them on the halfs so maybe when the longhorn is avalible in the 2500/3500's they could have them. i does take alot away from your bed space though.....

I pull a 5th wheel and now have a diamond plate in bed tool box. I think the truck would look a lot better without that type toolbox. As long as there is room for my 5th wheel hitch and a couple leveling boards that is enough for me. Guess I will have to keep using the regular bed mounted box. Was sure hoping to get this on a Laramie. Would look really nice I think. Thanks for your replies.
Going to hate to give up my 98 12v too but it will have to go.

I have one of the first 3500 Longhorns and special ordered it in December..there aren't any RamBox options for 2500 or 3500's....
According to Ram, there wont be....maybe with next body update in 2015ish...

I believe you could order the truck you want but have the bed deleted on the order sheet. then have a 1500 Rambox bed ordered and painted to match. Work it into the deal.

Just thinking outside the Rambox...groan. ;-)

That is an idea Jaxom. Thanks. I will talk to my dealer about it but dont expect much from them. the dealership here is one that was closed down and now reopened and the sales people know nothing about dodge trucks. really sad.

That is a great thought Jerry, BUT......I have a feeling that you'll find that the beds are not the same. Frame attachments are different for certain...

Thumbs up

To me it would make for a sharp looking truck to have them on there instead of the diamond plate tool box that I now have on my older truck. Looks like that is what I will have to do though. Thanks for your responses guys. Much appreciated.
