Ram Brand Engineer Q&A 6/29/2010 6:30-8 PM Eastern

There are many different levels of Chrysler Service contracts, so it would be impossible for us to answer a coverage question here. You should recheck with your dealer. They can show you a "covered components" list for your service contract, vehicle age, and mileage.

Has the dealer confirmed you have the latest software in your brake controller? There may be updates available that may help your issue.

We always hear different rumors about Cummins leaving and going to Ford or somewhere else, or some other kind of diesel being considered for the Ram. This combo has worked for many years, and I hope for many more. I'm curious, has the contract been renewed recently and if so, for how long? I understand if you can't answer that, but I for one don't want to see Cummins leaving these trucks. Now might be a good time to squash the rumor mill.

If you ever build a Non Commercial 4500 with a good GCWR, bring it to the Tampa RV Show in January, any January with some sales people. One of the biggest RV Shows in the country. Ford, Freightliner, Chevy, are all there. That 4500 with an 8.3 ISC would be the killer.

That is not our expectation. We do make the configuration that you're interested in. Not sure why it appears unavailable. We are investigating.

We are winding it down now Don, if you have another question you might want to make it quick. It is possible that one of the Engineers may log back on at another time to add some information.

Cummins is a valued powertrain partner. We recognize the value our customers place on the Cummins brand name. We are happy to offer the Cummins engine in our fourth generation pickup trucks. We hear your feedback loud and clear.
