Power Steering leak already?

When I first got my truck, I drove to my work and put the truck up on the lift to check it out. (I like to know what I bought). I noticed a slight drop on one of the power steering lines to the cooler, so I sprayed it off with some brake clean and compressed air. So today I go to get in my truck and I notice a drop in my driveway. I see it is in the same spot, so I take my spring clamp pliers and re-position the hose and clamp. Only slightly over 200 miles on the truck.

So it is a trip to the in which I was not too impressed with. In fact I wonder if this truck even got a PDI.

Well, I understand your concern. Are you 100% positive that it is power steering fluid that is dripping off of the hose? Just asking because my truck drips from all kinds of places but mainly from water in the frame surfaces.

I had some Power Steering issues when I first got my 2011. You will read on here about a "Tone" type of noise while turning and progressing slowly forward. Not a "Whine" as if the steering is to an extreme turn but something different. My steering box, power steering pump, and steering shaft have all been replaced. I had no leaks though.

If you have a good dealer I would recommend taking it in and having the thing checked out. It is a 50K dollar truck and you deserve the power steering system to be leak free. Fix it now before there is power steering fluid all over your drive train.

Yes I am sure it is power steering, I can see it dripping right from the cooler line. I know I have to take it in, I just wish I didn't .

I'd make them give me a loaner when you take it in!

Ok, so I went to the dealer...what a joke. They can not help me till Friday, really, I just bought this truck from you brand new on Thursday. I think a loaner would be asking too much from them, haha.

I called my buddy at another Dealer which is further away and they will take care of it.

Had Red fluid under mine the other night, investigated it to be the same issue. No dealer on island so I'm gonna call anchorage and see if they will send me a new line. If not I will start with a new clamp, I hate the clamps they put on these new trucks. My 07 I replaced more of them for either breaking or just leaking, their junk.

I put a tighter clamp on mine, but ordered a new hose as well. My buddy at Dodge will put it on next week.
