Payload Discrepency

I am getting conflicting information on payload of a 2011 3500 Long Bed SLT 6.7L

When I go here
http://www.ramtrucks.com/en/towing_guide/tow_chart/

and type in the VIN of the truck I want to buy it gives me a payload of approx 4700

but when I go here

http://www.media.chrysler.com/dcxms/...00HD_Specs.pdf

I get a payload of 2700

which is it and if it is the lower on how is it that the payload of the 3500 is so low? And why the big discrepency in numbers?

I do show in the pictures that the dealer took the GVWR is only 10100 lbs which would only make the truck dry weight weigh 5400 lbs in the fisrt scenario and that can't be right.

Can I get someone who has this truck tell me what they have on their truck. Looking at getting a camper to haul but don't want to be overloaded.

Thanks

Go to www.rambodybuilder.com. it seems to work best with IE but you definitely need adobe acrobat installed in order for the links to work correctly.

I own a 2011 3500 long bed 4x4 6.7L SRW CC. My GVWR is 10,100 and I had a pc of paper with a camper picture stating 2700 payload as well. Weight as far as the CAT scales was 8000 if i remember correctly. 4600 front and 3400. My Guess on the 2700 payload was because factory tires rated you about 6400lbs add the 2700 and you are right at max carrying capacity for the tires. Now i upgraded my tires and added air bags and ran all day long at 3000 to 4000 payload with no issues. Hope this helps..

Seems to me that the higher value would be for a DRW as they are usually about double a SRW.

trim level, cab configuration, transmission and drive type (2 or 4) all make a difference when calculating payload. The reg cab 2wd gets highest payload in all difference trim levels
