Looking at a new RAM
Looking at a new RAM
Hello there new to the forum......
So looking at purchasing a new 2011 RAM CTD. Love the truck, however I do have some concerns. Other than a few road trips out camping with my 26ft holiday trailer and few longer road trips unloaded throughout the year the truck will be primarily used around town. I live about 15 mins away from work so the round trip is quite short, and where I live(northern British Columbia Canada) its cold here 5 months out of the year.
I do not want to do any deletes on the truck until the warranty is off. Even then I am concerned that we are going to get hit with smog control. So my question is......can I use this truck as a daily driver in stock condition and still get any kind of decent mileage, or is the all emission stuff on it going to give me a headache?
Thanks.

I too was concerned about cold weather operation but so far my new RAM is Great in cold weather. I was at my camp in Michigans UP and the truck started several days at 20-30 below F with no plug in assist. Each year I travel thru northern BC, and did not buy the '11 Ford because of the Urea Crap and did not want to risk freeze up. My son also bought a '11 RAM 3500 and so far his truck runs Great in cold weather. We both get about 12-15 MPG with no Mods, our '05s 5.9L got 18-22 MPG under similar conditions after 20 miles of "warm up".
