New guy possibly looking for a Ram
New guy possibly looking for a Ram
Hey all. I'm a newbie on this site, and I've owned a Ram 1500 4x4 in the past, as well as a Ranger. I currently drive a '00 Super Duty with the 7.3 with 163,xxx miles on it. It's been a pretty good truck (well, the engine anyway), but I'm thinking I'd like to upgrade to a late '04-'05 quad cab Cummins. I personally believe Dodge has always made a good truck, and I think it's time to return to the brand I've always prefered. Mopar is in my blood, as my father owns a '70 Plymouth 'Cuda. I attend car shows every year, and have always enjoyed autos in general, especially Chryslers. Anyhow, my heart really lies with (Dodge) trucks, and it's looking like the Ford's time is up. I like it, but not enough to keep throwing money into it. I'd rather sell it while it still has value. The Fords seem to use really crappy steel. My leafs all broke, and my rear diff. cover is rotting off. Not to mention all the power accessories are failing on me. The 7.3 engine is great, but the Ford truck seems rather lackluster in build quality. I know the newer Rams are tinny, but not as bad as the Fords. I'm also well-aware of the advantages of owning a Cummins. Sorry for the ramble, but I just wanted to let you guys know that'd I'll be looking for a Ram 2500 in the very near future, and that I'm happy to be a member here. Feel free to help convince me to buy one soon!!! Dodge Rules!!
