I blocked my EGR
I had originally just unplugged the egr and of course it tossed codes. I just drove it like that and did the key trick to check for other codes that may have popped up.
so I had the idea of just blocking it off. so I cut a round piece of sheet metal and put it in the egr flange (round tube in front of engine) reconnected the egr wires, started the truck and it kept revving up and down..hmmm
disconnected the batteries and let it sit a few...reconnected them ..started engine 5 times to let the computer do its thing...no check engine light now.
It may toss a sensor code later ..not sure.
Your thoughts?

Bad idea, it's my understanding if the computer still thinks the EGR is working (and it does, since you left the connector plugged in) then the intake servo will still operate, closing off your fresh air thinking the EGR is making up the difference. You could disconnect that (or remove the servo gear- do a search) but it too is "closed loop" control and you'll throw a code. In short, you basically have a throttled intake now except it closes when you need it.

Yep found that out the next day...so now it is unplugged and blocked..also just changed oil and it did not turn black the first time I started the truck...why take the exhaust and run it in the intake right off the exhaust manifold? It woule be better if it was after the P-filter even if it needed a pump to do so..
Lets just toss sand in the intake!
