Headlight lamp change

Ok i know its probably too soon, but i was being nosy with my truck the other day...

Something i noticed was it was very difficult to get to the rear of the headlights to change the bulb if you have a blinker, marker or headlight lamp go out.

Is this one of those stand on your head, hold your tongue to the left of your mouth, take off the front tire and scream loud three times to get to the bulb for replacement?

Any ideas? Photos?

Thanks in advance

If it is a 2nd gen, yes, you have to do all of those things. Small hands help. I think the best thing to do is when you have "extra" time remove the batteries and pull the sockets out. Remove the bulbs and lube the O rings with O ring lube. Use electrical lube on the sockets, and I put some on the plastic locking ring also. Now when you have to change a bulb it is not a "project", but smaller hands still help.

Yep the whole headlight assembly pulls out. I just replaced the bulbs in mine with Sylvania Silverstars Ultra much better light. But on my truck it is a pain in the *** cause I replaced my front bumper with one made by Buckstop and I have to take the top tube of the bumper off to get the headlights out and to get the top tube off I have to take out the foglights to get to two of the bolts for the top tube. But it is worth it much stronger bumper than factory. Put this bumper on after I hit a deer one night.

I'm considering (probably will) the installation of a ranchhand front end replacement on my truck... if the entire headlight assembly comes out, i wonder if grill guard will affect the replacement of the bulbs?

anyone know?

i'm not sure if the ranchhand is further away from the headlight lens that the Buckstop that lschultz referred to.

thanks

That might be something to ask Ranch Hand. Something I did not think to ask Buckstop and nothing that I saw that they had in there specs. O well
