Front Suspension Noise after Leveling kit install and larger tires

Just had a 2 inch leveling kit and 285/75/17 Toyo MTs put on my truck. After the leveling kit installation I have noticed "slack" for a lack of better terms in my suspension. I ran the tires a few days before the leveling kit was installed and did not notice this. All components are tight and there is no issues with steering components. Could the combination of larger tires and the lift affected the compression and rebound abilities of my stock shocks causing this?

What kind of noise? Lower track bar bolt has to be REAL tight. Lower shock bolts are notorious for letting the shock clunk in the mount.

You can feel it as well as hear bump when the suspension travels. Not noticeable on highway as on dirt road. It reminds me of how your vehicle acts when the shocks are worn out, but these only have abour 14K on them. I'll double check the track bar and the bottom shock bolt (if I can get to it).

You may be at the life limit of the stock shocks if you actually use them off the pavement! Bilstein replacements are great, loved them on my lifted 01. www.genosgarage.com has done me well. go with the silver/black ones, they will handle the level kit. BTW, how much front lift did you go with? Your truck looks great.

Thanks and thanks for the info. I put a 2 inch Daystar kit on the front. If you had to choose an option other than Bilstein, what would you go with?

Also check your sway-bar endlinks. Mine had about 275k miles on them and I never knew they were shot until I installed my leveling kit. Within a couple of days I started feeling a "bang", so to speak, under the floorboard. Started looking around and found the end links were just about to seperate from themselves. New links from Genos and tightened up the trackbar bolts and all was good.

Yeah, at the start of the stroke my OEM shocks immediately took on that worn-out feeling after installing the leveling kit. They must be more efficient toward the middle and end of the stroke. By installing the leveling kit you basically are working them at the start of the compression zone, and they may not be designed for that. My front end gets really skittish on constant small to medium bumps, like washboards.

Call Don Thuren and get some of his smooth riding 3" coils(I believe he's releasing some shorter ones also). Those and some Bilstein 5100's should improve everything.

He'll return calls within 24hrs. Small operation but big on service and info. Very good guy.

Thanks for the input from everyone. Found the problem. The top of the left shock was not tight enough. Tighten the shock to compress the bushings, now everything is back to normal.
