Fog Lights

Well the old man winter road conditions killed one of my foglights last week. Stone went through one. Just about needed an ambulance/defibrulator when the Dodge dealer told me what they cost. I will buy it if I have to but does any of the forum members know of aftermarket direct replacement lights. This model is the glass one (Mopar are you listening? that was a dumb idea when everyone else used Lexan) and now I believe the Gen IV use Lexan but they will not fit my 2007.
Appreciate any help.

I've changed many broken fog lights on Rams. Whenever I installed a new one, I would install Armour Shield protective coating on the lens. Never saw one break with that stuff on there.

Also my $.02: Sure, the glass lenses will break, but they don't get nearly as sandblasted, discolored or hazy as the plastic ones. After a few years you'd need to replace the plastic ones anyway, because the light doesn't make it through anymore. I think I prefer the glass ones and I'll take my chances with the rocks.

They are $212 CDN list but I got it for $159 because I belong to a Mopar Car Club and that was the discount. Looks like the new ones are made of lexan type material not glass. Mopar must be learning.

I thought the fog lights were rather worthless. One of mine broke, and the dealer here wanted over $200, etc. You can order these replacements over the Internet and even get the factory Dodge part, but still something like $140 each as someone else posted.

I did not want these, so just went to the local auto parts store. They ordered an aftermarket light by Pilot (PL-138C) for Dodge Ram 2002 and up. It's an actual Driving Light and is like having the brights on. Much better. It does come with it's own bracket, but it does not have the adjustment screws like the factory model. So it's a bit tricky getting the bracket tight so that the aim is correct, then mounting the bracket/light. Only $99 for the pair. Works for me.

Beavermike - I see your point about the value of these lights where you live. Here in the frozen north they are valuable on a dark, half snow, half wet night where it is extremely hard to see the sides of the road. that is the only time I use them and in fog of course. I have the new one and it is a lexan lens and adjustable at the top c/w bracket as well.
