Has anyone used these tires and do they fit without a lift on a ram 2500 CC 4x4? Also any reviews on how tire wears.

i ran them, but they were 16's on my 2nd gen. great tire. quiet, smooth, wear even and last a long time. the first set i bought i got 56k out of them, the set i had on my 01 had 27k on them and more than half the tread left when i traded it in a couple weeks ago.

thanks for the information, I like this size as it seems to give a 35" tire without a super wide tire that sticks 3 or 4 inches outside the fender flair.

Here are a set of 285-75x17s I just installed. These Centerline wheels are 17x8.5 with 6" backspacing (+33mm offset). I had a heck of a time finding wheels with that much offset, but needed them to keep the tires inside the wheel wells.

The wheels I am looking at the ultra gauntlet in 18" wheels has a 6 inch backspace, so I should be in good shape.

No rubbing issues at all. You'll be fine with a 6" backspace. I love the ride and the way the steering responds. The earlier wheels with 4.75" backspace increased the scrub radius so much that it was a chore to turn the steering wheel while stopped and I'm sure contributed to ball joint and hub failures. I had no need or interest in having the tires stick 2" outside the wheel wells and hitting on the trailing edge of the fender. (The 4.75" BS wheels came with the truck).

Its up to you, of course, but I went down from 35 to 34 inch tires and stayed with 17" wheels. 17" Rims are cheaper, 17" tires are cheaper, and the smaller diameter tire puts more torque to the ground.

You know, look carefully at those wheels. You need the 8x6.5 bolt pattern on the 3/4 ton truck. That only comes in a +12 offset on a 18x9" wheel (5.5" BS).

I've got a +33mm offset with a 8.5 inch wheel and 6" BS. That moves the outside edge of the wheel inboard about 1 inch more than the +12mm offset and 9" wheel.

With no leveling kit, and the extra nearly inch sticking out, you may have those 35" tires hit the rear of the fender well when turning into a driveway. I really can't say, though, as I have a leveling kit. Also, a 9" rim width is the upper limit of the listed width on the Toyo 285-75x18 A/T tires, with 8" recommended.

Thanks for the info, that is what relying on your tire guy gets you. Does center line have any black wheels? I can't find any, not fan of chrome. found a possible wheel, the ultra mammoth in 18x9:

If I go with M/T over the A/T the wheels size is just on the high side of optimal wheel width of 8".

I don't know if Centerline does black or not. (That's not chrome, its all polish!). Call them about the "OverstocK" wheels that they actually make to order. Cheaper than published retail.

If your tire guy is sure, he'll be happy to mount up one and agree to take it back if it doesn't work for you.

He said he would mount one and let me see what it looks like, his company has both wheels mentioned above and the tires in stock. They pride themselves on customer satisfaction and offer a 30 day return policy.

I've used these in the 17 inch size, of course no problem getting those on. I've had several tires on my 04 now, the Toyo was probably the most mediocre of all the tires I've had. It depends on your use. It certainly is a nice all around hwy tire.

Here is what I've had:
1st: BFG AT/KO. Great all around tire. Picks up rocks. Great in snow when new. Probably only good for 40,000 miles, no more. When I had these they were only Ds, now they have an E rated tire, so it should wear better.

2nd. Toyo AT. Great on Hwy, very so so off road. I hunt, fish etc, and would never again consider these for much off hwy use. Not that great in snow (compared to the other ATs). I put over 40,000 on these.

3rd. Goodyear Silent Armor. Great in snow, smooth on the Hwy, and great choice. I put over 50,000 on these and would highly recommend these.

4th: Goodyear Duratrac. I liked the Silent Armor so well I was going to replace them. But these relatively new tire came out and looks to be a good cross from a typical AT and a full off road tire. It does not ride as smooth on the hwy as the Silent Armor, but not bad either. Great off hwy so far. It is rated well for snow, but I haven't had it on all that long. I'd recommend this one also.

All my tires have been 17 inch wheels, so only D rated. A D rated tire will run a bit smoother than an E, and may not last as long. Since you're going 18 inch you have a bit more choice. If you are doing just a little off hwy, gravel road, snow I would not get the Toyo.

My friend's considering replacing his fuel-guzzling 35-12.50-18 Toyo MT's with the 285-75-18 AT's. He blew it though on the wheel purchase and got 18 x 9's w/5.00" bs. The tires stick way out and he had to trim a bit off of his rear fenders. A 5.75" bs with 18 x 9's would be ideal,I believe.
