Adding music to the HDD

So I want to copy my music onto my hdd on my 2012 ram,no matter what USB port I plug into the USB button stays grayd out even in park. Any ideas as to how to make this work?

Odd, In the past I've just plugged a thumb drive into mine and the system automatically updates the music on the HDD....

I believe it has to be formated to FAT32 in order for it to work correctly.
