4th Gen front ends

I am contemplating buying a new Ram 2500 Hemi Outdoorsman.

Are the front ends still lacking in durability, or have they been beefed up in the 4th Gen trucks?

Is this a non issue with the lighter Hemi instead of the Cummins.

My 3rd Gen diesel went through numerous ball joints, steering boxes, tie rods and wheel joints.

Just don't want the headache anymore plus diesel prices are horrible up here.

My son's 2011 with close to 200,000km the front end is trashed, worn out, he's trading for a 2013 so although heavier still not cutting it.

They seem to be holding up better. Lots of guys on here with over 75k miles and no complaints yet, where the 3rd gen was ready for a rebuild by then (my 2003 had 3 sets of ball joints & two PS boxes & due for another by 100k miles).

I guess the way I look at it is this: Go to the 3rd gen forum and look at the active threads. Nearly half of them at any given time are front-end issues/questions. Now do a search on the 4th gen forum for "ball joints" or "death wobble", etc: Nary a mention. Granted the 3rd gens have way more miles on them, but still...
