2012 Order Book Open Date?
Years ago it was May I think, I know a guy who ordered a truck in April 96 and it came in as a 97 in july. But things have changed I believe. When I ordered my 11 on 12/28/10 they were still waiting on the books so don't no anymore. I ordered my 04 in early July, some dealers would not, said can't yet but I have this nice 03!! but one did.

Thanks Redline for the heads up.
Believe I ordered my 2010 in July and got it in September. Need the 2012 in September as well.
Still trying to find out what changes they'll be making in 2012. I assume there won't be many. My only concern is the 68RFE tranny specs behind the HO 800.
I never had any problem towing heavy 4x4 offroad with the 2010 and wish these guys would spend more time delivering better fuel economy than torque/hp brag.

Just ordered a 2012 3500 4x4 SRW Big Horn crew.
One option selected was the dual transmission oil cooler (NHT) which I don't have on my 2010. This and the larger torque converter raises my comfort level with the 800.

Ranch truck is a ranch truck.
It doesn't matter to me how they look but the Cummins, reliability and fuel economy do matter. In my opinion, any change to the RAM's front end is an improvement but that's just me.
I trade them every two years as a matter of safety working in such a remote and rugged area as ours and for the warranty.
I don't believe there are any major changes over the 2011s' except the 800 motor which is available on the late 2011s'. The dual tranny oil cooler and supplemental extra front side air bags were the only new options I remember on the list.

Ram emailed truck was built 6/22 with dealer delivery 8/8. I didn't think they were building them until July. Maybe they meant 7/22.
I wanted the the parkview camera but we saw no option for it when I placed the order. With the Big Horn preferred option package, upgraded 430 media center and technology group anyone know if it's included in one of those?

Parkview Camera must be part of one of the option packages (Build Sheet XACP).
It's also got the Electonic Stability Control (BNBS). I hope this is selectable.

Truck's in Friday. Picking it up Monday 8/8.
If there are an major changes on the Big Horn, I'll post.
Build sheet did show an O/Head Console w/Trip Computer/UGDO (CV2P). Not sure what that was.
Otherwise except for the HO, larger torque converter, ESC (BNBS) and optioned Tranny Cooler (NHT), I don't expect any major changes.
I don't believe the flares come on the Big Horns.
For some reason, the optioned protection group has again deleted the fuel tank skid plate which I had on my 2006. Now you only get the transfer case skid plate. Need it back.

Cool! I just ordered one this past weekend.
Were you able to track it;s progress with the VON #?
There is a shortage of electronic parts this year due to the trouble in Japan. Some options like backup sensors and cameras are in short supply.

Picked up the truck this afternoon and drove it back a couple hundred miles on the Interstate then, off road to the ranch.
Same truck but much better throttle response with a great linear feel climbing the RPM range. Transmission feels better, maybe smoother. Definitely more power on the ground than the 2010.
No urea. Probably after the 2014 DPF certification expires.
Steering wheel looks like it was imported from the new Durango. Better control layout than the 2010. The 430 Nav radio has a more refined screen and touch screen controls than the 2010 but maybe the 2011 had this already.
Most of the changes (new ECM, Torque Converter etc) are underneath. Better truck but buy it for the HO and upgraded tranny.
The rest is pretty much the same. If I discover something else, I'll post.
