2010 AC problem

My AC started making a thump thump thump sound inside the dash, and now I can only get air at my feet, no matter where I set it. Took the glove box out and I can see the recurlication open and close as it should. Also the temperature door also works, so it is the direction door. I have the center consol and have to remove it to get to the door, has anybody else had this problem in a 4th gen?

not me yet, but I hope I don't! I had all kinds of fun working on my third gen.

Depending on your mileage, isn't this still covered by warranty? I made sure my extended warranty covered the A/C and associated components before I bought my Used truck.

Sounds like it might be a motor drive slipping or a door not moving all the way when told to.

See this tread. There are several more like this one. Do a search. This member took the entire HVAC system out of his truck and put it on the bench.

Don't think there is alot of difference between the two generations except I hope they improved the door that allows you to use either inside air or pull in outside air. Those doors just fell apart in the 06.

Anyway the link was shown so you could see what is there with explanation.

As mentioned there are other threads on the subject. Search HVAC.

Ok, I fixed it. All of the motors are the same, so I took the bad one out and put the motor from the temperature door in place of the bad on, that way I can put the center consol back together. When I get the new motor all I have to do is take the glovebox out. I dont need heat right now, I hope Chrysler will pay for it. I called the Chrysler customer help line and they will call me back on Monday, if not, the new motor is only $30. Chrysler did some improvements on the doors, the stop plastic tabs are alot bigger as you can see in the picture. Over all, the job was not too bad, I am glad I did not have to replace a broken door.
