2010 3500 ctd tire size selection
will 35/12.50r17 fit without a leveling kit or is a leveling kit recommended to prevent rubbing? or would i be safer with a 33" size. thinking about pro comp at extremes dont want to go full out mud tire but dont want a (mild) all terrain i've heard the pro comps are good all the way around as far as mileage and traction any ideas would be a help

yes it should fit with myabe very slight rubbing. your speedo will be off and cant be corrected at the dealer for bigger than approx 33" tire.
Nitto grappler makes a great tire and Toyo mud terrain if you want more aggressive. Pro comp would be a 3rd choice out of the three for me

the trail grappler isnt an over kill for daily driver you dont think? and what did you go with for a leveling kit and did it stiffen it up in the front? would would you do if it was yours and trying to keep stock rims and get rid of the donut stock tires and was going for something that was good all around and long lasting?

i have terra grappler, not as aggressive as the trail grappler. cant remember the brand of levelling kit, there are a bunch of them. im not sure about being stiffer in the front, i put it on the day after i got the truck so i couldnt really compare. keeping stock rims i wouldnt go bigger than 33 or 34 because of the look, it affects gearing, and the bigger you go th emore your mph will be off. I would get E rated tires and there isnt a huge selection of E rated for the rim size and tire you want.
As far as long lasting, i had BFG's AT that lasted 60k miles. My last set of tires were Toyo mud terrain, got 55k miles. From what i read the Nittos shold do just as good. They are quiet, good priced (depending on where you get them) and have good ratings. I wouldnt get the BFG's again
