First, anyone having issues with their driver's door "thumping" when going over rough pavement? It ALMOST sounds like the door is flexing, up around the window frame, being forced away from the door frame and then snapping back to it with a thump??

Second, of late when I turn on my HVAC, I'm getting a "damp" smell? It's distinctive for sure and I don't know how to describe it aside from "that smell".

 

My door flexes as well when driving done that for a while now. I experience a bad smell in my truck like mildew turns out the third brake light leaks like a sift when stopped you might wanna ck that out because it drains down the bk wall to the floor board and soaks the rear carpet.

 

I will check the rear carpet but I really only smell something when I start the HVAC and it definitely smells like it's coming from the vents.

 

This was an issue with the 3rd gens, and DC issued a TSB to fix it. Had it done myself back in 04 or 05 and not an issue since. IIRC, a solution was injected into the airbox to kill all the fuzzies and then I think a special treament was injected to prevent further issues with smelly condensate.

 

I'm gonna have to bring it up when I bring it in for the next service.
