How do you get away with running the DEF off road. My truck started 2 fires in 1 week!!

So far I have just a ticks butt under 10K. And I have had no issues at all. I did get a recall notice for something to do with the cab air vents

You mean DPF right....I've had mine in fields with fodder and trash blowing around all fall, and up until the last week it's been DRY, and ton's of fires around.

Haven't noticed any DPF fire issues!

Saturday it's getting a new A/C evaporator after the expansion valve didn't silence the freon line squeal.

Anybody here do there own vehicle servicing? I'm curious to see on how much tarish, soot build-up is there inside these 2010 engines? How dirty is the turbocharger? My truck is different than the stock truck, so I've been curious.

They replaced the A/C evaporator condenser.

Looks like that finally fixed the freon line squeal problem.

This truck will definately take me to 300k miles...
If you look after this truck (and keep your racing for when you drive the Ferrari or Corvette) then there is no reason you should not get to over 500K miles. An aquaintance in Saskatchewan province has 1.4 million kilometers on his 89 and no engine repairs other than typical maintenance and replacing wear items. Truck body looks like hell and about 4 or 5 trannys but the same engine.

89 CTD engine is way way different than these 6.7L. Hate to say this to loudly, but the days of million mile cummins engines are long gone. You'll probably have to pull the injectors, do lots of emission equipment cleanings, buy a few new turbos, maybe a transmission or two. The old VE engines are true industrial engines, the 6.7L is more built for vehicles than a industrial. No smoke, clean emissions, more power, its all costs $$$ and will drop life out of the engine.
