New Clutch

Well, finally put south bend 3250dd in truck last week,i did full deletes at 12,000 km with h&S mini max ran on wild from day one and now with 115,000 km I had a little slipping in sixth gear. I could off got away with the stock clutch for the winter but, just waited so long for the south bend.the stock clutch and pressure plate had no signs of any wear on them. With the new clutch in and a easy 500 miles on it for break in, she grabs hard on the hot setting that I;ve waited for to try and not worry about blowing my clutch up. maybe some day dodge will come stock with these clutches.

I have 3 friends with DD's in their 4th gen trucks, and none of them can carry on a conversation at idle with the windows down. Nor can they run much lower than 1500-1700 in 4th-6th.

The DD's do hold amazing, but have lousy low rpm/idle manners regardless of brand.

The problem I find with the 3250 is that the clutch is no longer the weakest link the G56 is next up.

It seems to do fine within it's design perimeters.

As with the factory stock clutch, it's when those limits are exceeded and if you are installing a 3250 you have already surpassed them.

new clutch

I think that tranny will hold up just fine. the clutch pedal has to be 3/4 the way out before the clutch starts to grab,i like it when you started to let the clutch out that it started to grab then.

The SBC hydraulics are adjustable.

I "know" that G56 tranny didn't hold up at all in my son's 2011, the Aisin is doing just fine so far in his 2013 though, just saying

Well, mines has been endurance tested a time or two and so far its refused to let go. People kinda look at you funny when you drift a dually across a few lanes of a highway. Unintentionally, I promise.

The new SB3250 are quiet, old SB3250 make rattlin noise in neutral.

There really isn't to much different between the 3600 and 3250, been told its the same clutch

Why would any one only run one disk, when two disk clutchs work/hold so much better.

Nothing wrong with the G56 transmission, just know how to use it properly. Seen some big power truck run a G56, with no issues. Seen near stock truck hurt them.

Because the quiet DD's are still stupid loud compared to a single, and if your not slipping a single the dual isn't going to add anything. If it ain't slipping it ain't slipping.

To me if a single holds fine, and a dual rattles the dual is worse, not better. That's the case for all the people I know personally with a dual.
