I 2nd the comment on the transmission tune recommendations. It fixes alot of drive-ability issues.

 

Any of you guys run H&S without the tranny tune? I just running the standard programmer and really don't think I need the overdrive.

I already paid a ton of cash for the programmer. Fords guys get their trans tune free.

 

Mike, I loaded my stock tune just to make sure I could put back to stock with no issues. After that I loaded the Full Delete tune and did not load the transmission tune. Basically I just did not enter my UNLOCK code and then drove the truck. What I noticed was that the TC LOCKED indication on my Mini Maxx rarely happened. Also, almost every time I applied light throttle application it wanted to shift down instead of just increasing boost. It also shifts much softer without the trans tune.

I then loaded the tune again, entering my unlock code, and took for a drive. TC LOCKED shows almost immediately in every gear it shifts to, shifts are much harder and faster, and when I put some serious throttle in it there was way less "BOOST CREEP" and "DOWN-SHIFTING". I cannot tell you that it was worth it but I can tell you that it makes a noticeable difference.

I will get back to you after I drive it more and do some testing. I am also gonna do some DRAG testing once the weather in NC gets better.

 

Thanks New2Diesel, I will have to look into one at some point. I thought that the H&S tune without overdrive, works awesome as it. I do more hiway driving that city.

 

I am not sure if you will see any difference on the highway. I would guess that the more you stay in 5th or 6th cruising the less you would need the trans tuning. I drive pretty much only city so it works fab for me. By the way I am sending the "Full Delete" pics to Blake now so keep looking.
