Just curious

How many trucks are running full deletes with a programer. I've always felt no news is good news. It seems that you don't see a lot of problems that deal with deleted trucks. Just my thoughts.

Thumbs up

Have 5000 miles on an '11 That is deleted and tuned with H&S. Not one issue. Had it a little over a year now. Had a stock 2010 Ford for right at year, block heater went out, needed a reflash and had a check engine light you could set your watch by. Not to mention 10 miles to the gallon and the power was not there. I know quite a few guys with 3rd and 4th gen Dodges and I think all of them will tell you the same.

Well I did it. Ordered my full delete stuff. Went with the H&S xrt pro, sinister egr valve/ egr cooler delete, diamond eye dpf delete pipe/ down pipe and the shibby throttle valve delete. Can't wait for the stuff to get here. Will do isspro gauges next month.

You will enjoy it very much. I recomend getting the Overdrive transmisson progam with your XRT Pro if you have the extra funds. It makes a big difference with the 4 Gens

I have a problem...... These trucks should have come this way from the factory and it should ALL be covered under warranty. Just think how much money we are saving Dodge by deleting as the truck will probably NEVER see the dealer, EVER again. However that ol saying "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice....." well, you know.

Both 6.7's I have owned were deleted before 20k

The 08 had 70sumthin when I traded it. The 11 has 26k as of now.

The 11 was full deleted from the get go.

The 08 was ran with the EJA and SIMS (Back in the Dark Age days of deleting) before the Smarty came out.

Well its not really Dodges fault, it is the EPA and the Feds that want "clean diesel" trust me that we (Chrysler) went through hell with this emissions crap in the begining.

I do understand about meeting EPA standards BUT........ It was Dodge that sold these trucks without telling the buyers that they will not work in cold climates as daily drivers with idling involved even with a fast idle and winter front. It was Dodge that dodged the issues, denied that the problems even existed or just played dumb and even did not tell the truth when it threw codes. Then when we make them so they can be used how we purchased them to be used DODGE voids our warranty yet will not sell a truck without warranty. Sorry to disagree but all that IS Dodge's fault. Oh one other thing, how dare they sell a product that is designed to dump diesel fuel into the engine oil shortening the engine life, or perhaps that was planned to increase sales. I'm sure most of us would still have bought these trucks just done it differently.

Huh? Please explain. I thought that only happend when you have leaky (thus defective) injectors.

They recirculate a percentage of the exhaust gas back into the combustion chamber (which soots-up the oil) if that's what you meant. However, they've been doing that on medium duty trucks/buses for over ten years so that's nothing new- but utimately bad for your engine.

If you don't operate the truck in the cold and idle it then it won't effect you, BUT if you do there is so much unburned fuel that gets fed around and around it not only runs back down the boost tube during EGR operation it also runs down the cylinder walls and "makes oil". When my son and I talked with the dealer about this on numerous occasions their responses were from "what is making oil?" to might be a bad injector, but after an injector check and dyno run they declared all was good, but didn't explain why the truck made oil. The truck had also been back for poor fuel economy and no power a couple of times and they had twice replaced the O2 sensors, wonder why that happened? Also the waste Amsoil that came out of the engine was like water. It was only after I removed the intake and boost tube it became very clear what the problem was. After deletes the truck oil stays clean gets incredible fuel economy and it doesn't make oil.

Well the brown truck showed up Friday afternoon with my stuff to do full deletes. Started on the deletes this a.m. Took me about four hours to do the dpf , cat , egr cooler, egr and throttle body. Went with H&S XRT PRO programer. isspro gauges Which I will install tomorrow. I was completely amazed at the soot in the exhaust and the egr system it makes you wonder how the cummins functioned. I was optimistic about doing the deletes because of possibly needing or being denied warranty work but after today I know I did the right thing. I set the truck to a no horse power program and set the Torque management. The difference is amazing I really can't think of the words to describe what it is like WOW! Completely different truck and hopefully I will not be making oil. If your on the fence I suggest you jump off and get with it. You'll be wondering why you didn't do it earlier.
