Intermittant Clutch slippage
My 2011, 5500 dodge, Cummins diesel with a 6 sp manual seems to have clutch slippage on occasion but not regularly.
I pulled out onto the country road and as I accelerated the clutch slipped badly.
However for the rest of the day I tried to get it to slip as I accelerated and did not notice any slippage.
Today the regular driver was back in the truck and he was accelerating to pass a car on interstate and the clutch slipped again.
Anyone having a similar experience??
We do not have a competent dealer locally.

Todd, the clutches in these trucks in stock form are just barely capable of holding the torque these engines make....add to that the different driving styles people have and one of the other drivers may ride the clutch a little or hammer it a little harder than normal and you end up with a problem clutch especially if you are hauling heavy.
If you do end up putting a new clutch in it...DON'T put a stocker back in it, Give me a call and we can hook you up with one that will hold that power!
