I am new to this form and to the Dodge 6.7, I have a 2012 3500 that came with a new Smarty S67 tuner and I want to "TURN OFF" the EGR system without taking anything off the engine or throwing a code or light? Can anyone tell me STEP BY STEP how I do this? Remember this is my first Dodge diesel so please make the instructions as simple as possible. And what TUNE should I use to get the best MPG from this truck. And last is there any other simple tricks to the 6.7 to get the MPG up as much as possible? Thanks in advance!

I may be cross threaded here but I believe when I bought my smarty for the 2012 I used to have it was either the deleted version or not. my programmer would only work one way...

So you are saying that the tuner must be purchased new with the EGR turn off function or not?

First let's address the "New Smarty S67 Tuner" first.
If it has "US" in the serial number then it is a new EPA/emissions compliant tuner and cannot/will not allow you to turn off (delete) anything.
If it has a "P" or "A" in the serial number then yes it is a delete capable tuner.

Second, Delete capable Smarty tuners (S-67, J-67) are not delete selective tuners. With that I mean they disable (delete) all the emissions equipment and do not allow you to select any individual systems.

The delete capable tuners do allow you to load a delete or emissions compliant tune so you have a choice of doing either if you so choose.

So let us know if you have a delete capable tuner and decide to do the full deletes and we can then recommend a tune for you.

I do have a US S67 tuner? So you are saying there is no way to turn the EGR off with this tuner? No programs that can be added to do this?

There is no way to load a delete (disable) tune on a US Smarty tuner.

There is no way to turn off the egr system with a US Smarty tuner.

There are no additional programs you can load to any Smarty tuner.

Even if you had a delete capable Smarty tuner there is no way to turn off just the egr.
You cannot choose to delete (disable) individual systems (IE: exhaust or egr systems) with Smarty tuners.
