H&s egr
I believe the answer is YES and I am thinking about starting this way.
Look for the thread with this title and read all about it: Deleting the 6.7: A guide to making it run right! (4th Gen Section) UPDATED 6-6-11

Yes you can just turn egr off with the mini max. A good friend of mine ran his 2012 4500 service truck deleted with egr just turned off, we didn't delete egr until the cooler started leaking, and that was after 2 years of the truck running 12-18 hours a day 6-7 days a week. We saw no issues in that time frame with the egr cooler sooting up.
Just wondering what people's egt's are running at? Currently on tow mode the most I can get is 1050, with on 75% pedal. The pyro probe is in the exhuast manifold. Just wondering
My 2011 I like to keep them under 1000deg but do get up close to 1200 towing in the mountains or very strong head winds unless I shift down. I have 2 probes, one in the rear blocker plate and one in the manifold. The manifold one reads much faster and is 100 to 150 degrees hotter than the other at anything above idle. If you can only get to 1050 do you have the defuel set???

Help... Have H&S XRT Pro. I've set it in Tow mode. I was running through it today. I didn't notice if i can command the EGR shut.
1. it set it closed in the programing?
2. I did not play with fuel setting for egt issues-- I am assuming that it will defuel when temps reach the parameter to do so?
3. Is there any instructions for cleaning the EGR somewhere? I'd prefer to save myself $900 over the dealer charge for it.
I'm enjoying better MPG's but almost want to revert back to stock and install a BD unit given the demise of H&S.

I'm fairly sure the XRT doesn't have the capability for defuel like the mini maxx does. If you are comparing apples to apples as in the mini maxx to the BD with delete capability then the mini maxx still wins as the BD doesn't have the capability to "talk" to the transmission and at the time when H&S was around their "Transmission Tuning" was very good. Other than that the delete capable BD and mini maxx are almost identical.
