dpf delete/sims

sorry I know there is probably a lot of threads with the same issue but I cant seem to search and find them. I just bought an edge juice w/ attitude and was told it would support the deletes. I was reading an other thread about the sims and with the edge it will throw codes anyway and that you can set your edge to clear codes on start up. Does that mean that it'll throw codes while driving and then I'd have to pull over shut the truck down and restart it to make the edge clear the codes? Maybe someone could point me to a thread with the info on making the sims I have all the resistors just need diagrams for wiring and installing. I don't want to "redneck" delete but if I have to then I have to.

do yourself a huge favor and toss that edge. they run hot on the dodges. try and find a used smarty or minimaxx that will shut everything off inside the ECM. you will be a lot happier in the long run

ok so I want to put the sims(resistors) in but none of the connectors in the thread look like mine. I have three egt probes and what looks like two O2 sensors. The egt probes have 2 black wires and the other sensors have 5 wires. Can anyone give me some detailed instructions and pics? I would greatly appreciate it.

Ok so I just realized that this all got posted in the wrong section of the forum it should be in a different one as I own a 3rd gen(2008) not 4th gen. But still can someone help me with making my sims? Please need to use the truck and I don't want to be in the middle of towing and have my truck go into limp mode. I'm a pictures kind of guy and the pics in the threads I've read are confusing to me. What resistors are the right ones the use? I've heard 3 different ones a 110 ohm, a 330 ohm, and a 470 ohm?

To my understanding, if you want to hack your wiring, use a 330 ohm on the egt probes to slow the regen counter. Use the 100 ohm to disable it. You may need a DPF Pressure Sim for the DPF Differential Pressure Sensor. I'm not sure what resistors are required for that. An alternative is to get the Sims from Shibby Engineering since they will be plug and play and saves you from cutting the harness. The egt probes have 2 wires. Hopefully this helps. I recommend to just get the Sims that are already built... It'll save you a lot of frustration in the end for cutting, soldering, short wires, messed up soldering, etc.

Ok thanks for that that clears up half of it. So the 100ohm resistors go on the egt probes? I have a line on a smarty cr67. I can't find that model number on the web site, is it a good one to get for my truck?

One more question is there a way to clear the overhead display and make it stop saying the dpf is full?

That is correct, they go on the egt probes. In other words, they would actually take the place of your probes. You would leave them disconnected. I am not too familiar with the Smarty programmers. Just make sure it is delete capable. If you get a delete capable tuner, it will clear the overhead display and you won't need to use Sims.

With the right tools, maybe. Otherwise, Smarty has to do it and I don't think they will. H&S won't either with their products, except in special circumstances (big maybe). The original owner may be able to contact Smarty, but I don't think they will do anything given the current state of regulations.

That Smarty isn't worth a dime VIN locked if that vehicle is no where to be found and hasn't been reflashed.

I haven't paid for it yet and now I'm not gonna. I did however get the P1451 code cleared. I'm making 100ohm sims so hopefully when I start it back up it will be clear of codes and I'm gonna reinstall the edge.

So I just got off the phone with Mads and they said they would and could unlock it for me but said that once they did that it wont support the deletes as they don't have any tuners that will anymore. So ya its a big ******* paper wait that weighs nothing.

I wonder if they flash firmware that prevents the delete capable software from being installed? I have seen where Smarty owners updated to the wrong software, but we're able to get the delete capable software again from various online places and used it without issues.

That's interesting. I wonder if I called somewhere else if they could reflash the programmer.
