Clutch blown.

Son calls and says the clutch won't disengage and the fluid is still good. I naturally think master cylinder until he tells me he had to take the ditch to avoid a head on with someone overtaking a semi. He was really stuck, smoked the clutch and still had to get a farmer to pull him out. It's for the 2011 G56 with full deletes and mini maxx. To me the choice seems to be the Southbend CON OFE G56, any opinions? He also asked if I thought it possible to do outside in a field I have done most of my wrench turning outside but at least on a hard surface and even then it's tough when you drop a tool in the snow. I think it would be very difficult to drop the xfr case and gear box even working on a sheet of plywood. Then how to support the engine?

Thanks, it can be tough country up here. He phoned a supplier here today for a "Southbend clutch for 450HP" and was quoted $295 including hydraulics. Now I know the Canadian dollar has risen lately but the going price in the US is around $1285 somethings not right. I'm going to swing by the supplier and see what's up. Blizzard warnings out for parts of the province today but we may get missed. One of the guys has to come back to the city (81/2 hrs on good roads) to pick up parts so he can take the clutch back with him, he still plans to do it outside in the field.. Not much choice but I'm getting too old for that stuff.
