Check engine light question

I unplugged my EGR for awhile so I had a check engine light of course, but in two days I am going to get the truck deleted at the dealer and put in a H&S Blackmaxx etc. So I plugged the EGR plug back in two days ago and the light hasn't gone away yet, I've started and shut the truck down about 20 times over the course of the two days and will not erase. Does it usually take that long or whats going on?

I finally gave up and went to autozone and had them clear the code. I think on the '11's it takes 40-50 because on my 10 it takes less than 5 or 6 but after 20 or so on the '11 I just gave up!

If the dealer is going to delete it for you and keep your warranty that's a pretty good dealer. Anyway when installing the H&S it will automatically clear all the codes so I wouldn't worry about it.

I guess I was just wanting my command start back more than anything, but I can handle two more days haha. I also thought I had read on here that it only took a few times but I can see them making things more difficult by leaving the light on longer for us

Or....you could have MIL codes that aren't EGR specific. Might want to have the dealer check those before you erase them (if they come back again).
