Anyone have Bestop TrekStep?
Anyone have Bestop TrekStep?
Just got my 3500 crew cab and I ran across some interesting aftermarket accessories. The Bestop TrekStep and AMP Research Bedstep look to be rebadged products. I'm curious as to how practical they actually are and if anyone has them are there any issues with them rattling or rubbing the truck surface.
If anyone has one of these products I would love to hear your input. Good, bad or indifferent..

I have the AMP Research Bedstep 1 and the bedstep 2. The Bedstep 2 is total junk not worth the money and bad design. The Bedstep 1 which is located under the rear bumper is Awesome. Had one on my Ford and bought one for my Dodge. I purchased a bed step which hangs on the tire for access to the front of my bed when I am towing my fifth wheel. It works well.
First of all I have a 2 wheel drive. So the truck is not sitting up real high. So that might be a part of my dissatisfaction. But with the 2 wheel drive it is not high enough for my height, 5'10". and it is to far forward, ie. close to the cab. and it is to close to the bed so that you can't really keep your balance enough to reach in and pick up something.
I have bedsteps on both sides and on the rear as well. I'm very happy with the Amp products.
The bests top products are the cheaper clones of the Amp versions. Amps are made in USA. Bestops are overseas products.
