Anyone done this type of delete??????
Anyone done this type of delete??????
Still waiting to do my deletes and I have been researching like crazy. I have come across pictures and articles of people just putting block off plugs at the egr cooler and the egr valve. Most are doing this to try and stay as stock as possible. I was still thinking about doing the block off plate for the egr valve but leaving the cooler on. My mechanic said either way he will do it and said leaving the cooler on will not hurt anything.
Any advise????????

At first glance it might seem like a good idea but when the truck goes into regen because the DPF is starting to get full it opens the EGR valve which closes off the intake air and normally would allow the exhaust gas to enter the intake. As you have it blocked off I think the engine would just die from not enough air and if you unplug the EGR valve the truck DPF will eventually get full.

You can get an EGR delete or EGR/Cooler delete. So what you want to do will work just fine as long as you do it at the time you do your DPF delete or after, just don't do it before doing the deletes and installing a programmer or you may run into problems. The hardest part about doing the cooler delete is reaching the back end of the cooler. When the cooler on my truck was installed at the factory, one of the back nuts were cross-threaded so it made it even more difficult than necessary to remove.
