Can a 5.9 Smarty be converted to a 6.7 ME Smarty? Just by overwriting the software?

My friend has a lead on a 5.9 Smarty at a really great price. But if possible, he wants to convert it firmware/software??? for use on his 6.7...

Is any of this possible?

 

as long as it is not vin locked you can download the software to it for the 6.7 and be good to go the softwares are on the smarty website but only the non deleted version someone on here just may have the me version and the tnt software for the 6.7
