Does anyone know if you want to delete a '13 will a H&S or Smarty for a '12 work? If so what will I have to do with the urea injection after deleted the egr?
Or
Am I completely screwed having to live with terrible mpg?

There is no programmer/tuner that is available for the 2013 Ram. One issue will be the engine ECM, this is now a 96 pin connector instead of the older 76 pin connector with the older ECM's. The reason for the 96 pin connector is the amount of new sensors on the engine and the monitoring that is done by them. So I do no think a tuner will be available for awhile.

Now the new 2013 Rams with the SCR (urea) is reported to have better fuel mileage than the 07.5 to 1202 Cummins engines were getting. I have seen several post where the user has reported decent fuel mileage out of the HO engines in them.

Thanks for the replies. I don't know right now the lie-o-meter on the dash says I'm averaging 13.5. I guess the only other thing I'm concerned about is my oil getting diluted with fuel. All because of the emissions crap.

I have been seeing 16 mpg on most 2013 that I have been servicing lately. 10 or more per day, I guess it all depends on how hard you push down on the go pedal.

The 2013 trucks have a totally different emission system than the 2007.5 too 2012 trucks with the 6.7L engine. With the use of SCR (urea) system the 5 injection cycle was eliminated for regening of the DPF and the NOX filter has been eliminated; less EGR. DEF has to be used now and there is a gage to tell you when your are running low on DEF.

Cummins has extended out the oil change interval to 15,000 miles now with 5W-40 oil when used. I would read up on the new 2013 RAM trucks and engines I would also have the dealer make sure that you have the latest flashes installed.

The 2013 shouldn't suffer from the same level of oil dilution as before. SCR = less EGR.

Jim can you point me in the right direction to find information on the 2013 Rams. Everything I've read has been thru the diesel magazines. Those have been of little real insight. The main reason I bought mine was for the Aisin transmission.

There is another Turbo Diesel forum that I am a member on. This is called Turbo Diesel Register. This site is a fee site for $35. 00 a year all thought guests can read some of the treads from this site but cannot post on it. The TDR also publishes a quarterly magazine that discusses several issues for the first gen trucks to the fourth gen trucks; they also cover all the new Cummins development as to engines and to the Ram trucks. In fact we just had a rally at the Cummins CMEP in Columbus IN this June. Were we were shown the new 2013 trucks and rolling chassis with just the drive train installed. I have been a paying member since Nov 07 when I bought my 08 Ram with a Cummins in it.

I have attached their web site for you to review and also a link to order a publication free to review. They also publish a Turbo Diesel Buyer’s guide in a PDF booklet that can be downloaded from their site for free.
