I have 16000 miles on my truck and I've changed the oil 5 times already and it's so black I can't believe it. The oil level goes up about a quart between changes. Must be the diesel fuel from the regen cycle.

How does the "S" software affect the number of regens and the frequency of oil changes? I know it is difficult to know the number of regens but does it seem like they happen more or less frequently?

i have over 12k on mine and have only witnessed it giong into a full regen 1 time. as for oil changes, I still do 5k LOF's and even when its deleted it will still get the same interval. Going to work on a bypass filter for the engine to help keep things cleaner but maintain the 5k interval.

Interesting to know this. Makes me feel better considering you run yours harder than I do mine. in 7600 miles mine has gone into regen once. That was on the way home on our 4300 mile trip at about 7200 miles.

ya I am on a roll for adding up miles so far. bought end of Feb and already have near 13k. I guess driving from Idaho when I bought it, to Idaho for vacation, a couple times to El Paso, Sante fe a few times plus the fiance lives 20ish miles south of me so it adds up pretty fast.
