Will bad DEF contribute to code P2048

In January 2019 I had a health issue that drove me out of RVing. I parked my 2014 3500 and it hasn't been started a dozen times in the past year. Now all of a sudden it has thrown a code P2048, which I know is a problem with the DEF injection system, most likely the injector itself. However before I jump into an expensive repair, I wondered if the DEF, sitting in the tank all this time, could be a contributing factor in some way. I will appreciate any information ya'll can provide.

You can pull the injector and clean the face of it, I’d drain the def as well. If you pull the injector buy a new gasket, it will break apart during removal. Won’t cost you much to take a look yourself. It’s 2 bolts and very easy to get to.

Ya, I think I will do that and do an OHMS check at the same time. I was thinking that the Urea may have crystalized and caused a prob. But now that I think about it, would that cause a P2048 which is based on a voltage issue.,. HMMMMMM? I guess we shall see.
