Hey guys I need some help. my buddy's 2 gen is not running rigth.It acts like it's starving for full and it's giving a p1693 code .dose anyone know what this code is? by the way the truck acts I would think it's the lift pump but not sure I gave a p0500 code once but I cleared and hasn't come back.

 

I think that is a companion code, that means there is probly another code hidden in the system. Try clearing it and see if comes back. You will probly have to go to the dealer and get it scanned by the dodge computer if its comes back. If its acting like it starving for fuel, might get ready for bad news(lift pump, really bad news, Injector pump). Might not be though.

 

Thanks 6 wheeler . we cleared it and the p1693 comes back but the p 0500 dosn't. He put a injector pump on the truck about 10.000 ago so i hope thats not it .

p0500 is vehicle speed sensor malfunction !

 

Try cleaning the battery terminals, then do the apps reset. What year is the truck? and does it have a fuel pressure gauge? Auto zone will do a free "OBD 11 " scan to look for the companion code. with luck, it will not have the "dredded P0216" code.
