What Kind of MPG are you guys getting

Averaging mid 15's on mine so far, 2300 miles on it. I am 50/50 highway and city mix with a 40 mile round trip commute home every day. My 07 5.9 really didn't do any better as it was a 4X4 with 35's on it.

my first trip from Idaho (where I bought the truck) to Albuquerque avg 17.4 until I got into Albuquerque city streets then went down to 16.6
truck only has less than 1300 miles on it so far. if it keeps this up, I will be very happy with it and it will only get better as mileage is put on and engine broke in then DELETES!

i think I will keep my 2002 and buy a new 1/2 ton as well. The hemi's are getting better mileage nowadays 
Mine still gets 19 mpg pretty consistantly. unless i am towing, then it drops to 14 or so.

I should note that the readings are from using the on board system, but as far as I can tell my "Tank Math" is pretty close maybe not as good as the on board system says but close.

i have an excel spreadsheet which automatically calculates your MPG and adds up your payments & stuff if you need to track MPG.
PM me if you want it, or you can host it/post it for folks to use.
I used $4500 in fuel every year, needs records for taxes.
it adds up the totals if you have to pay more than once (when it costs more than $75) and it adds your amount of fuel, then shows the price per gallon, and that lets you know if the fuel station is cheating you.
and it has a comment column for what trailer you had on.
i think the ~20mpg guys are looking at the overhead
my 2006 4x2 SRW does 15~18, and shows 20~22 on the overhead constantly.
we see these MPG threads all the time, and it's hard to get folks to put whether they hand calc or watch the overhead.
my 2004 4x4 did 15~18, but showed 18~20 on overhead.

My 2006 overhead stated 18-19 mpg and I hand calced everything and would get 20-21 mpg. My new 2011 shows 13.5 to 14 mpg and this is only off by less then 0.5 from hand calced. . . I will likely spend at least an additional $2,000 per year in fuel with the new pickup.

We filled mine up at the dealership as soon as I bought it on Feb 25th. The gage still says fool Of course it's been in the shop since the day I bought it. (for the wheelchair lift 
)I've never had a tank of fuel last sooo looong.

Just traded 2007 for 2011 3500 dually, was getting 18-20 all around milage with 07. Only 500 miles on new truck, 14-15mpg first tank. Doesn't really matter though, love the new ride. It has all the bells and whistles. Will check the next few tanks and keep you updated.

Initially, i was only getting about 14 mpg driving empty on the interstate averaging between 70 and 75 mph. At about 8,000 miles on the odometer, I started getting a little over 15 mpg on the highway at similar speeds. Recently at 14,000 miles, I got about 17 mpg on a 500 mile trip at similar speeds of 70 to 75 mph. I am happy with the improvement in the highway mpg, especially considering this truck has 410 gears. My last truck was an 06 with 373 gears and it was only getting about 18 mpg when it had approximately 70,000 miles on it. The biggest disappointment is with the mileage I am getting with local driving (approx 1/3 highway and 2/3 city). My current truck is only getting 12.5 to 13.5 mpg, whereas my previous truck got about 14.5 to 15 mpg. Towing a 15K fifth-wheel camper (Mobil Suite) I am currently getting about 8.5 mpg compared to the 06 that got about 9.5 mpg.

My 2011 Crewcab 4x4 auto is getting horrible MPG's so far. I'm averaging 12.6 mixed in town and highway,empty. It's only got about 1000 miles on it but so far its pretty sad. I like the truck other than that though.

These comparisons are always fantastic - big shame Dodge doesn't have MPGs posted for their diesels.
Had a 2006 4x4 5.9L Automatic since it was new, just broken in at 76,000 miles. Only thing changed on that big red monster is the air filter, upgraded to a K&N (now it whistles slightly when you accelerate! Haha!) within the first year of driving it.
Mostly highway mileage, thank god. Dash says 28.5. (Downwards of 26 in town, upwards of 30 when I'm on the home stretch.) Willing to say it's a bit off. Probably is. But not by more than 2MPG, says tank math.
By contrast, when my husband drive it, the dashboard says he's only getting 22 MPG. Oi, you men with your lead feet!
