Throttle valve as emergency SOV

So has anyone done this when doing deletes ? It would be so simple to rewire with a guarded switch or not one but two switches to avoid inadvertent operation. It's free it's there why pay almost 2 grand for one.

git r dun. post up pics. I would find a truck in the salvage yard and snag the connector for the throttle valve so you don't tear any of your factory wiring up.

I just have to get my truck first. I bought a 3500 short box crew on Sunday then when looking for a B&W hitch last night I realized my current 5ver (Titanium) may hit the top of the cab in a dip. I went in today to tell them I need a long box and there's my short box clean and shiny..Oh well better safe than sorry.

I think the problem we are going to run into is that the Throttle valve is not spring actuated after early 07. So the valve has to be electronically closed and not spring tripped, but some of the Roda Deco stuff is not all spring actuated either.

It would be cool to have a box to plug into the valve and whamo PAS..

I thought by reading all the posts I'd figure out what SOV was. No such luck, can someone fill me in?

Thanks,

Its a requirement if you work in the Oil and Gas industry as a safety feature.. There was a large plant explosion in Houston Tx a few years ago that was attributed to a Frod PSD running away.

This is the one I have in my 97. Known as Positive Air Shutoff valve.

What explosion are you talking about? Texas City? I thought that was from a 1500 Dodge gasser.
