Last night I towed a trailer about 20 miles on the hiway... The trailer weighed about 6500 lbs.

I noticed that tempurature stayed between 210 and 215 on the EVIC. Is this normal for temp to climb while towing such a light load?????? I was driving about 70 mph.

Mine runs 205 empty. I have seen 220 with 12,000 on. So I would say that is normal considering the heat right now.

 

Mine runs about 209 with a big load, I ahev seen it get up to 221 on a long hill. You gauge could be off a little,

Cummins thermostats usually have a 15-20° spread from rated temp to full open temp.

I haven't seen the spec's on the 6.7 tstat but the 190° used in the HPCR 5.9's isn't fully open until 207°, so a 200° thermostat wouldn't be full open until 215-220°.

 

This makes sense to me....normal temp when running is between 199 and 203...
